School Dads

Dads who go to school full time, work part time, and make time to take GOOD care of their families are so cool!

Got Chocolate Milk?

...Sadie does!

Looks like I have some stain removal to do.

Jordan's Court of Honor

Seriously, look at this BEAUTIFUL family (minus Justin :( we sure miss you).
I am extremely blessed to have married into such a wonderful family.
On nights like this I am reminded just how privileged I am to be a Madsen!

Last Saturday was our little brother Jordan's Court of Honor.  We battled a snow storm through Sardine Canyon to support him for this special event.  He has worked extremely hard and we are so proud of him.

The fact is that no one in this entire world throws an event like Kerri Madsen. She is talented beyond measure and always works so hard to make sure her boys have special moments like this in their lives to remember.
The evening started off with this very pretty bald eagle.

Our Dad, Scott, has been serving as Scout Master in the ward, and he did a grat job putting together a nice video of several scouting events and had nothing but kind words to say about his Jordan.

Kerri is one very proud mother; she definitely has many reasons to be.

BROTHERS!

It was very nice night and we were grateful to be a part of it.

Things I'm looking forward to:
-Girls night on Friday, NEW  MOON!
-Josh & Ash coming to stay this weekend.
-Decorating my house for Christmas.
-And of course Thanksgiving

Three Peas in a Pod

I will love these pictures forever.

Not just because they are beautiful,

but because they truly capture what our family is like at this moment in time.

We strive to grow and learn as a family,

and spread our wings when times get tough.

Having Sadie in our life brings us joy beyond measure!

We're just happy to have eachother.

I think this picture really defines what it means to 'become like a child'.

I HIGHLY suggest you take a look at Jessie Oberg Photography, think about what wonderful memories she could capture for you in a photo!

Jess, we love our pictures. Thank you very much for all you've done for us, I love you with all my heart!

Birthday Continued

The three of us spent last weekend in South Jordan with our family and friends.  Our schedule was busy, we had a family party for Sadie's birthday, the SYTYCD concert, and we had our pictures taken.  Jason decided to make a cake for the party,  I think he has started a new tradition!  Look at this beauty!

Didn't he do a GREAT job!?!  And it was delicious. Compliments to the chef.
Grandma Kerri bought Sadie a small cake to eat, destroy, and to make a mess with.
But once again, she was NOT happy about having her clothes off and everyone looking at her.

"Please get me out of here, clean off my hands, and put my clothes back on!"  Miss Mae you are so funny.
Once she was fully dressed and playing with some pink balloons she was as happy as could be.

Pictures like these make my heart happy.  Someday I hope Sadie will cherish pictures with her Great Grandparetns.  It means a lot to me that they are always so supportive.
Grandpa Christensen and Grandma and Grandpa Farnsworth.

Dad helping Sadie open her gifts.
"Cool, five bucks!"

And this picture is just to make you smile.
This cute guy is Ocsar, my sister's dog. He goes everywhere she goes and is happy to just be in her purse.

Thak you so much to those of you who called to wish Sadie a Happy Birthday, left treats on our doorstep, and gave her such nice gifts.  I'm sure if she had any idea what was going on she would be very appreciative ;)!

A future post to come about my first year as a mother and how much I love it.

Cold

We've caught the cold!
Sometime this week Sadie and I mananged to catch a cold.
It is definitely not fun being sick or taking care of a sick child, especially when you can hear her caughing in her sleep, the sound breaks my heart.
But I am grateful that we are sick at the same time, I think it is a blessing.
Now I am praying that Jason doesn't get sick.

SYTYCD

Yes, the concert was AMAZING!

We just hung out with these folks all night, at least that's how we felt ;).

If you watched season 5 I'm sure your remember the Russian Folk Dance.

It was awful, not the dancing, just the whole idea. Even Mr. Lythgo said they shouldn't have been asked to do it.  For the concert it was made into a big joke and it was hilarious!!!

One of my favorite dances from the season was Battlefield, danced by Jeanine and Brandon.
I was so happy that it was perfromed at the concert.

How about some Bollywood, danced by Kaitlyn and Jason.

And of course the Vampire dance, performed by Kayla and Kapono.

We really had a great time!
Thank you Jason for spoiling us with the tickets!

A Wedding Band

Is it weird that J and I talk on the phone several times a day?
Today while talking to Jason before he went to class he had a story for me!

"You'll never guess what just happened to me.  Everyday before I eat my lunch I go to the bathroom to wash my hands.  Well, you know how your hands shrink when they get cold?  So, I was washing my hands and my ring slipped off.  Normally it wouldn't be a big deal but the sink didn't have a drain cover.  I had to call USU facilities and tell them what happened. They came to my rescue and unscrewed the sink to get my ring out.  They really should put a drain cover on that sink."

LUCKILY, the ring was found.  How aweful could that have been?!

ONE very special birthday!

The inevitable finally happened! My baby girl had her first birthday, it was so bitter sweet.  I knew when I was pregnant that J and I would be bringing home a BABY! I guess it never really occurred to me that one day that precious, tiny little miss would turn into a TODDLER, and now I have no idea what I'm doing.  But that is a subject that needs its very own post.
We (or as Jason would say, I) have really enjoyed celebrating this milestone.  I just think that birthdays are a big deal.  The festivities began on Sunday afternoon, Grandma and Grandpa Farnsworth came to Logan to deliver a traditonal gift.  Every girl in the family for thier first birthday gets a waterbaby.

If you can't tell by Sadie's face in this picture, she loves it!  My sweet husband, coming from a family of six boys, had no idea what a waterbaby was. HELLO, it's a girls best friend, at least it was mine ;)

On Tuesday we had the Monsens over for some cake and gifts.
The first to be opened was Pinocchio, "thanks Dad, this looks good!"

Thad kindly gave Sadie two pink bows, black tights, and nice shiny shoes.  What a sweetheart!

Last but not least, were some awesome ABC and 123 fridge magnets.

Yes, Sadie is still sucking away at her left thumb, especially if she has her "softy."
And of course, a cake, or better said, a giant cupcake!

Please forgive the red eye in these pictures.  When we have the red eye flash on the camera Sadie always blinks and I haven't had time to edit.
Notice she is very carefully picking off the skittles.  This girls loves crazy core skittles, I don't blame her they are delicious.

Sadie could have cared less about the cupcake, I don't know if she didn't like the taste or she didn't like getting messy, but she wanted nothing to do with it.  We would try to give her some but she would shut her mouth and shake her head.

So after getting messy for no reason, it was bath time!

Nothing makes her happier than a nice warm bath after a long day.

More to come on Miss Mae bug after the weekend!

This is Halloween

Dressing up in costume!

Trick-or-Treating

Taking pictures.

Eating candy!

Hanging out with friends!

And having a PaRtY!!!

On Saturday night Jason and I hosted a Halloween party at our house.  Several of our friends came for the  fun, three couples even drove up from Salt Lake.  A potato bar was served and we had lots and lots of YUMMY treats to eat!
We played two silly games and three intense rounds of mafia.  After the crowd died down a bit, those of us that were left played a fun game called Buzz Word. Boys vs. girls, it was a CLOSE game. We really enjoyed the company of our friends and had a few good laughs.  Thank you so mcuh to everyone for bringing such delicious snacks!  I love getting together and having a good time!
