ONE very special birthday!

The inevitable finally happened! My baby girl had her first birthday, it was so bitter sweet.  I knew when I was pregnant that J and I would be bringing home a BABY! I guess it never really occurred to me that one day that precious, tiny little miss would turn into a TODDLER, and now I have no idea what I'm doing.  But that is a subject that needs its very own post.
We (or as Jason would say, I) have really enjoyed celebrating this milestone.  I just think that birthdays are a big deal.  The festivities began on Sunday afternoon, Grandma and Grandpa Farnsworth came to Logan to deliver a traditonal gift.  Every girl in the family for thier first birthday gets a waterbaby.

If you can't tell by Sadie's face in this picture, she loves it!  My sweet husband, coming from a family of six boys, had no idea what a waterbaby was. HELLO, it's a girls best friend, at least it was mine ;)

On Tuesday we had the Monsens over for some cake and gifts.
The first to be opened was Pinocchio, "thanks Dad, this looks good!"

Thad kindly gave Sadie two pink bows, black tights, and nice shiny shoes.  What a sweetheart!

Last but not least, were some awesome ABC and 123 fridge magnets.

Yes, Sadie is still sucking away at her left thumb, especially if she has her "softy."
And of course, a cake, or better said, a giant cupcake!

Please forgive the red eye in these pictures.  When we have the red eye flash on the camera Sadie always blinks and I haven't had time to edit.
Notice she is very carefully picking off the skittles.  This girls loves crazy core skittles, I don't blame her they are delicious.

Sadie could have cared less about the cupcake, I don't know if she didn't like the taste or she didn't like getting messy, but she wanted nothing to do with it.  We would try to give her some but she would shut her mouth and shake her head.

So after getting messy for no reason, it was bath time!

Nothing makes her happier than a nice warm bath after a long day.

More to come on Miss Mae bug after the weekend!

This is Halloween

Dressing up in costume!

Trick-or-Treating

Taking pictures.

Eating candy!

Hanging out with friends!

And having a PaRtY!!!

On Saturday night Jason and I hosted a Halloween party at our house.  Several of our friends came for the  fun, three couples even drove up from Salt Lake.  A potato bar was served and we had lots and lots of YUMMY treats to eat!
We played two silly games and three intense rounds of mafia.  After the crowd died down a bit, those of us that were left played a fun game called Buzz Word. Boys vs. girls, it was a CLOSE game. We really enjoyed the company of our friends and had a few good laughs.  Thank you so mcuh to everyone for bringing such delicious snacks!  I love getting together and having a good time!

Wedding

Yesterday Shelley and I spent the day in Salt Lake supporting these two love birds for this very special occasion.

After seeing my hair in this picture,

I knew it had to be cut!

My favorite part of the day was seeing these two beauty queens. I love them both so very, very much!!!

I couldn't get enough of these super tall calla lilies.

Seriously, they were taller than Sadie!

Thanks to Shelley for the fun day and giving me the moral support I needed to cut my hair.

Wonderful Day

This morning I got home from the gym earlier than usual.
While I was putting Jason's lunch together I decided to jump in the shower before the rest of the house woke up.
My day goes so much smoother when I am showered before Sadie wakes up, this only happens about once a week but I love it when it does.
After showering I realized that my sweet husband was still in bed.
I had no choice but to crawl in bed with him!
#1 Our bed is the most comfortable place on earth.
#2 Laying in bed cuddled up to Jason is my favorite activity!
As I was laying there snuggled nice in Jason's arms, I was thinking to myself about the busy day I had planned and all the things I needed to do before eleven a.m.
I told Jason that I should probably get up and get going.
He then pulled the covers over our heads and said "now no one can see us."
So, I continued to lay in bed with him for well over 30 minutes. Fortunately, Miss Mae was still sleeping.
A silly habit of my husbands, he sleeps with his i-touch on the nightstand so he can look at the weather for the day before even getting out of bed.
This morning he decided it was time to listen to some Christmas music, which I love, just anytime after Halloween.
After one Christmas song he switched the Pandora station to music a little more fitting for the morning.
On days when we get out of bed at the same time we count to three then get up together.
I am very grateful for the extra thirty minutes that I decided to spend in bed with my husband today. Especially because he won't be home tonight until after eight o'clock and we will both be very busy for the rest of the week.
Now it is three p.m. My daughter is peacefully napping in the next room. I have completed today's "to-do" list. And it is SNOWING like crazy outside! I am oh so happy to be inside where it is warm and so grateful for my life's greatest blessings!

Meet The Flinstones

Last night was our ward Halloween party.
I was very impressed by some of these awesome moves and cool costumes!
Sadie just showing off some of her bum.

My sweet friend Shawnee made these creative Fred and Wilma costumes last year and is kindly letting us barrow them! I made Sadie this cute little Pebbles costume.
We enjoyed getting to know more people in our ward and were grateful to have a trial run with our costumes.

The Pumpkin Walk

Yesterday Sadie and I went to the Pumpkin Walk in North Logan with our friends. I can't believe that I have lived in Cache Valley for three years and had never been to this event before. It was so much fun seeing how creative people are with just a pumpkin.

The M&M display was so cute! I wish I could eat an M&M as big as these! ;)
The sad truth is, I probably would if I could.

Of course we had to take a million pictures of the kids with their little faces in these silly holes!
Kate, Thad, Sadie and Jaron. Just hanging out with the big red dog.
A true princess!!!

Sadie & Thad, the best of friends!
The vegetable garden was my favorite, everything looked so real!
This sweet little lady looked like a real witch, warty nose and all.

To top it off, they even gave us a cookie and a string cheese! mmmm
I'm already looking forward to going next year.

A Witch's Weekend

Last weekend we went home to South Jordan for some fun!
On Friday night I went to an enrichment activity with my mother-in-law and made this cute WITCH sign for Halloween. I am not crafty and this was a lot of work, but I am happy with the way it turned out.

On Saturday afternoon I went to a baby shower for my friend Jess! I definitely over ate, they had way too many delicious food options. Anyway, I made this little blanket for her baby girl. The material on the back is prints of different nursery rhymes and the solid pink is SO soft. I was half tempted to keep it for Sadie. We sure are getting excited for Jessicca to have this little one.

Later that evening the ladies dressed up and headed to Gardner Village for Witches Night Out! The evening was spent shopping, dancing, taking pictures and of course, eating! We definitely had a good time!

Silly Sadie

(this is another post about the one and only)

C is for cookie! Sadie LOVES Nilla Wafers, mmmmmmm!
She just can't shove them in her mouth fast enough.

This cute face on the bottom left is the one she pulls when we say "cheese!"

Sadie can see herself in the garbage can, she must think it's a friend because she'll stand there and talk to herself. When she doesn't get a response, she continues talking.

We have some SERIOUS bed head happenin' these days!

Clearly, she did not want a kiss from her mama! :(

Sometimes when we're going out, I'm tempted to just put a hood on her head so I don't have to do her hair. She thinks it is hilarious to pull her bows and rubber bands off her head so she can eat them.

"I smell cookies!"

"Mom you really think this plastic thing is going to keep me out of the cupboard?! Think again!"

Gotta love her button nose and chubby cheeks!

Proposal

Just over two years ago Jason took me by the hand, knelt down, and asked me to be his wife! He was very creative and particular with how he wanted it to be done. It really was perfect, and I couldn't have asked for anything more. I won't share the whole story because it is a little long, but I will say that the day involved our good friends Brian and Terah Jones, one four-wheeler, one dune-buggie, a dozen flowers, 12 love notes, lots of snow, Lily Lake, yummy dinner, a hot tub, a helicopter ride in the Uintahs, and a beautiful diamond ring. Although the day's activities were unforgettable, it was Jason who mattered most. Three short months later we were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. I love the life that we have created together and I thank my Father in Heaven everyday for blessing me with such a wonderful spouse!
